Janneke van Heeswijk started playing the drums at the late age of 18. After 3 months of drum lessons she auditioned at the Brabants Conservatorium in Tilburg to study drums & percussion. In 2003 she received the diploma and went to Australia to study courses in Pop Music at Griffith University. Learned how to record her own songs there, and back in Holland she started recording her debut Album under the name of ‘Grietje’ – Across Borders. This album was well received on radio 2. Meanwhile she toured 2 years with Frank Groothof (‘Monster van het Labyrinth’), played in ‘De Efteling’ (entertainment parck) for years, toured for 3 years with Veldhuis & Kemper, and on the side always did gigs with cover bands, mainly 60s & 70s music. She also starts to produce international theatre shows, Raices Cubanas (Cuba) and The Bootleg Sixties (Great Britain)(worlds best 60s Tribute Band according to sir Elton John), tour of 25 theatre shows in The Netherlands. She works on her own songs, records her songs at home in her own studio, under the name of Jenny-K. Besides being a singer and a drummer, she plays numerous other instruments: drums, percussion, ac. guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboards, recorder (flute).
